Savanna & Patrick's Farmville Virginia High Bridge Trail Engagement Session (Part Two)
We’re back at High Bridge in Farmville, Virginia for an engagement session… part two!
As we briefly mentioned in our first Savanna + Patrick blog, we ran into some issues during Savanna & Patrick’s first session and though we got a few photos, we wanted to give it another shot and go under the bridge this time!
We met up at the Camp Paradise entrance to the High Bridge Trail and went adventuring a bit down into the woods to get underneath the bridge (afterwards, we found a nice, real trail that would have gotten us there all the same, but who doesn’t love traipsing through the woods a bit?).
If you’ve never checked out the High Bridge, it’s certainly a sight to see. From on top of it, you look down and see the Appomattox river seemingly a million miles below you (it’s actually 125 feet down). You look across and can only barely see the other side, almost a full half-mile away. It’s pretty cool… but below the bridge is where it gets really cool. Huge iron beams and massive pylons supporting the bridge are resting in a nice little clearing with a forest on each side. A very small little beach with rocks and sand meet up with the rushing water of the Appomattox river. A perfect setting for an engagement session - especially if you’ve got a daring couple to work with.
Savanna + Patrick were SO much fun to work with! They were 100% down for any of the ideas we threw at them (except jumping in the river, though I think Patrick might have done it). They were so in-tune with each other and so visibly in love. The entire session consisted of laughter, playing, and lots of stolen kisses.
Unlike most of our clients in engagement sessions, these two lovebirds have actually been married for almost a whole year! They had a small ceremony last year and chose to wait to have a wedding celebration and reception with all their family and friends. We are so excited to be photographing it for them in May! Until then, here are some super adorable photos of them out at High Bridge.
